Allison Liu Commits to Penn Quakers for 2026-27 | Swimming Recruit Highlight (2025)

Here’s a story that’s bound to inspire every young athlete dreaming of college sports: Summer Nationals Qualifier Allison Liu has officially made her verbal commitment to the University of Pennsylvania for the 2026-27 season. But here’s where it gets even more exciting—her journey to this moment is a testament to hard work, passion, and the power of a supportive community. Let’s dive into the details!

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps (https://fitterandfaster.com/), the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel, understands that swimming in college isn’t just a sport—it’s a lifelong dream pursued with unwavering dedication. They’re committed to celebrating athletes like Allison and the countless individuals who’ve cheered them on every step of the way. And this is the part most people miss: behind every successful swimmer is a network of coaches, teammates, and family members who’ve played a pivotal role in their journey.

Allison Liu, a standout senior at Mountain View High School in Northern California, recently announced her verbal commitment to the University of Pennsylvania’s admission process* for 2026-27. In her own words, she shared, ‘I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Pennsylvania! I’m truly grateful to my friends, teammates, and coaches at PASA for supporting me along this journey. Special thanks to my parents, your unwavering love and belief in me has made all of this possible. I also wanted to thank Coach Mike, Andrew, and Maddie for giving me this incredible opportunity. GO QUAKERS!! ❤️💙’

Now, let’s talk about Allison’s impressive achievements in the pool. Swimming with her club team, Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics (PASA), she delivered a standout performance at Winter Juniors West last December. She clocked personal bests in the 50 free (23.53), 100 free (51.22), and 100 fly (54.63). But that’s not all—she also anchored the PASA 200 free relay with a split of 22.44 and achieved lifetime bests in the 50 free (23.12) and 100 back (57.70) during time trials. Talk about versatility!

In high school competition, Allison placed 3rd in the 50 free (23.61) and 8th in the 100 free (52.34) at the CIF-Central Coast Section Championships. She then advanced to the California State Meet, finishing 9th in the 50 free (23.50) and contributing splits of 22.22 in the free and 24.13 in the fly on relays. Her summer season was equally impressive, as she competed in three back-to-back championship meets: Novato Sectionals, Sacramento Futures, and U.S. Junior National Championships. At Novato, she secured a 3rd-place finish in the 50 free with a personal best of 26.52, followed by 5th in the 100 fly (1:02.82) and 16th in the 100 free (59.81). In Sacramento, she placed 10th in the 50 free (26.62), 4th in the 50 fly (27.83), and 17th in the 100 fly (1:02.46). She capped off her summer in Irvine, where she finaled in the 50 fly (26th) with another personal best of 27.54.

But here’s where it gets controversial: With times like these, Allison is already poised to score in the ‘B’ finals of the 50 free and 100 fly, and the ‘C’ final of the 100 free at the Ivy League Women’s Championships. Does this mean she’ll dominate from day one, or will she face unexpected challenges at the collegiate level? Only time will tell. Her best SCY times include:

  • 50 free – 23.11
  • 100 free – 51.22
  • 50 fly – 25.34
  • 100 fly – 54.63
  • 100 back – 57.70

Allison will join the Quakers’ class of 2030 alongside Hailey Preuss, Katelynn Zhou, Morgan Knox, and Sophia Gao. Here’s a thought-provoking question for you: With such a strong incoming class, how will the Quakers’ dynamics shift, and who will emerge as the team’s next leader? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office holds that authority. The coach can only commit their support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue ‘Likely Letters’ before October 1 of the student’s senior year. Even then, a Likely Letter is not a guarantee of admission.
