A brutal performance by Jalen Brunson has left the Knicks reeling and their fans questioning their chances. The star point guard's off-night was a stark reminder of the team's vulnerabilities.
In a 123-117 loss to the Celtics, Brunson had his worst game of the season, missing the majority of his shots and turning the ball over three times. This resulted in a disappointing end to the Knicks' four-game winning streak, leaving them with a 3-6 record away from MSG.

Brunson's shooting was way off, with most of his attempts falling short. He went 1-for-8 from three-point range, including a wide-open shot that barely grazed the rim. Despite this, the Knicks showed resilience, battling back from significant deficits, reminiscent of their playoff comebacks.
And this is the part most people miss... The Knicks' offense struggled, especially in the second and third quarters, managing only 44 points combined. Josh Hart, who had an impressive start, burying 3-pointers, seemed to lose his touch. Karl-Anthony Towns and Miles McBride also had their moments, but it wasn't enough to counter the Celtics' star, Jaylen Brown, who dominated with 42 points, 18 of which came in the second quarter.
"We can't get bored with what's working," said Hart. "We got complacent, and that's when our offense stalled and our defense suffered. We need to stay focused on our game plan and not get distracted by leads.
The team's reserves, particularly backup point guard Tyler Kolek, struggled to keep up with the Celtics' pace, and the decision to deploy Hack-A-Mitch on Mitchell Robinson didn't pay off for New York.
So, was it Brunson's poor performance that cost the Knicks the game, or was it a collective effort that fell short? And what does this mean for their chances moving forward?
